Barnesville, Ohio – The Belmont County Historical Society is offering free admission to the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum in Barnesville, Ohio, on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. This event is being sponsored by Wilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
The Belmont County Historical Society is excited about the museum’s opening for the 2022 season and would like to invite the public to visit for free to help celebrate. All will be admitted for free for one day only.
This event will be the first of its kind for the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum. While there, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a quilt and gift certificates from J-Mo Meats. Drawings for the raffles will occur in December of 2022.
Regular museum hours will begin on May 1st and run through October 1st, with a cost of admission of $8 for adults and $2 for students. Memberships to the Belmont County Historical Society begin at $15 per person, or $20 per couple, and include admission to the museum through our summer season.

The Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum is located on State Route 800 in Barnesville, Ohio. Completed in 1893, the museum consists of 26 rooms. This award-winning, Romanesque Revival mansion has been restored and furnished with the finest of Victorian-era pieces. The Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum is owned and operated by the Belmont County Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Belmont County Historical Society and Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum are happy to announce the 2022 schedule of events.
To celebrate our opening this year, we will be offering free admission on April 30th, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. We would like to thank Wilson Funeral Homes for sponsoring this free admission event. We will open as usual for paid admission on May 1st, 2022.
In June, we will hold our famous Rose Tea. Featured as part of the tea will be a display of the museum’s wedding gown collection. Our collection has recently grown with a donation from the Reisbeck family of a 1907 wedding gown.
July will bring a field trip to Flint Ridge and Newark Earthworks led by John Boilegh. We will be having a Painting & Tea Party in August.
During September, we will be displaying quilts from the museum quilt collection, with extended hours the weekend of the Pumpkin Festival.
The Magic of Christmas Tours will return the Saturday after Thanksgiving with regular hours through December 18th, and by appointment through January 8th, 2023. We will also be holding Victorian Christmas Teas on December 2nd and 3rd.

Recently, members of the Belmont County Historical Society paid a visit to our neighbors at the Noble County Historical Society to attend the Ohio Local History Alliance Region 10 meeting, held at the Ball-Caldwell House in Caldwell, Ohio.
While there, they attended informational sessions, including ones on how to find and access grants and partnering with local schools.
